It is commonly known as Meenakshi Temple, is a historic Hindu temple located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is dedicated to Meenakshi, an avatar of the Hindu goddess Parvati, and her consort Sundareswarar, an avatar of Shiva.
